Sheesh… I would take it that you did a good job presenting AND that GPL3 isn’t that controversial. As a developer, I saw the move to the GPL license as very important and another brick in the sugarcrm wall of power. OSS isn’t just free product, it is an OPEN product you can change, improve, and have access to as long as you want. I say that as a developer that would probably never redistribute most of what I do for my sugarcrm clients–GPL matters.

Now that Sugar is GPL, it’s officially Open Source and the blogosphere has lost fodder to yap about. Daniel Lyons nailed the apathy people have with OSS today – it’s just about a free product. Am I wrong?

After all that prep work we did?! So my question out to the community is, “why don’t you care?” Does switching from the SPL to the GPLv3 have any meaningful impact on you?
