SugarCRM now in the Windows Web App Gallery

Today, we made Sugar Community Edition available through the Windows Web App Gallery in order to make is easy to get Sugar up and running on Windows easily. If you aren’t familiar the Web App Gallery, check it out. It’s a great tool for getting many of the most popular PHP and ASP.NET open source web applications, such as Wordpress, Drupal, and Gallery, up and running in minutes. Combined with the Microsoft Web Platform Installer, which installs and configures all the IIS/SQL Server stack components such as FastCGI, PHP, and IIS Rewrite, you can get your Windows box ready to serve any of these popular web applications without breaking a sweat.
You can install SugarCRM via the Web Platform Installer using the link below:
Currently, we support installing Sugar Community Edition on IIS 5.1 and above (Windows XP and later) and using MySQL as the database. In the future, we plan to expand to support installing it on SQL Server as well.
SugarCRM and Windows – Where we are going
Our upcoming 5.5 release will be adding support for SQL Server 2008, as well as Windows Server 2008, to our supported platform matrix, keeping us current with the latest products on the Windows platform. We are also currently testing the new Microsoft PHP SQL Server Driver and plan to have beta support for it in 5.5, with full support upcoming in a 5.5 maintenance release (stay tuned for more information about this). Also for 5.5, we will add full support for using FastCGI under IIS, which should bring performance and stability improvements to all Windows users, and in the process we are removing support for the buggy and slow ISAPI module used with PHP under IIS in previous versions.
With these platform changes, and the upcoming features and stability improvements in 5.5, Sugar is now a premier application for those on deploying stacks.

Congratulations! That’s huge. I’ve been a big fan or SugarCRM, even back in the old 3.x days. Now that it’s matured into one great product, I’m suggesting it to more and more small businesses. Again, Congrats! Jeff

mysql is a separate install and was not able to install sugarcrm web app on xp sp3.

I used the installer for SugarCRM and that was so easy!
My only question is it installed for use with mysql. It never gave me an option to install for use with sql server. I that in the works or was there an operator error? :0

The Web App Gallery pushes Apache and doesn’t detect MSSQL 2008. Will this be fixed?

Does Sugarcrm support MSSQL 2008? or just MSSQL 2005 ??
